A Journey of Faith Sharing and Gospel Action
“We must seek together how to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges, dialogue, always open to receive like this square with its open arms, all, all who need our charity, our presence, dialogue and love.” —Pope Leo XIV, Inaugural Address, May 8, 2025
When Pope Leo XIV chose his name, he wasn’t only honoring a legacy, he was issuing a call. Just as Pope Leo XIII’s groundbreaking encyclical, Rerum Novarum, confronted the injustices of the first industrial revolution, Leo XIV has stepped boldly into a world shaped by a second: the revolution of artificial intelligence, automation, and unchecked economic power. Once again, the Church is summoned to bring moral clarity and gospel light to the pressing social questions of our time.
At RENEW International, we believe the heart of the Church’s social teaching doesn’t belong on a shelf—it belongs around the table. It comes alive when people gather to reflect on Scripture, share their lived experiences, and discern how faith leads to action in everyday life.
That’s why we’ve created In the Light of Justice—a series of faith-sharing resources designed to help parishes, small groups, and individuals explore, embody, and activate the rich wisdom of Catholic Social Teaching.
This journey begins with Catholic Social Teaching for a New Era, a six-week foundational resource exploring these topics:
- The Common Good
- The Dignity of Work in the Age of AI
- The Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
- Solidarity and the Human Family
- Care for Our Common Home
- Faith in Action: Disciples Shaping the Future
But the journey doesn’t stop there. Additional resources will deepen and expand the conversation:
- The Faces of Justice – narrative-based reflections on poverty, labor, exclusion, and resilience
- The Prophetic Imagination – voices of scripture and prophets calling the Church to conversion
- Faith at Work – practical pathways for living CST in daily life
- Wired for the Kingdom – CST and the ethics of AI, technology, and digital culture
- Communities of Hope – helping parishes reflect the justice they proclaim
