A small-group resource that examines Catholic teaching on the death penalty based on the insights of Sr. Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States and The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions, and a leading advocate for abolition of the death penalty and for elimination of social and economic unfairness in the criminal-justice system.
Created in partnership with the Catholic Mobilizing Network, Dignity and the Death Penalty helps participants reflect on the fairness of the criminal justice system, arguments for and against capital punishment, and alternatives to the death sentence.
