United States Catholic Catechism for Adults

The United States Catholic Catechism for Adults follows (as does the Why Catholic? process) the fourfold arrangement of the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
  • the Creed
  • the Sacraments
  • the moral life
  • prayer

The United States Catholic Catechism for Adults presents the teaching of the Church in a way that is inculturated for adults in the United States. It does this by offering 36 chapters, each of which includes the following elements:

  • lessons or stories of faith
  • Catholic teaching: Its foundation and application
  • sidebars presenting saints, Fathers, and doctors of the Church
  • a presentation of the relationship of Catholic teaching to modern day culture in the U.S.
  • discussion questions
  • a summary of the key doctrinal statements
  • meditation and prayer
