Longing for the Holy: Planning Your Spiritual Journey Together is a guidebook for implementing Longing for the Holy as a community or parish process. 

The Longing for the Holy process is built around twelve faith-sharing sessions, presented in the participant’s book, Longing for the Holy: Spirituality for Everyday life. 

Some small Christian communities may decide they want to spread their twelve faith-sharing sessions across two seasons (for example: six sessions in the Fall, and six in or before Lent). Other communities may prefer to make this one continuous twelve week spiritual pilgrimage together. Whatever your preference, Longing for the Holy: Planning Your Spiritual Journey Together offers the guidance you need to get the process off to a healthy start.

The key to Longing for Holy as a community process is establishing an effective team who coordinate the planning, and in particular the preliminary planning: the organization of the invitation to take part; the organizing of those who sign up into small groups; the selection and training of leaders for these small communities. All of this is presented by the Longing for the Holy: Planning Your Spiritual Journey Together, not just in principle, but in the form of six detailed meeting plans: five preparatory meetings; and one session that covers evaluating and celebrating the community’s experience of Longing for the Holy.
